I’d say that about sums up this little break from posting I’ve taken, but this hiatus is officially over. I’ve been going through a bit of a funk for the last couple week/months. Mostly due to the complete and utter lack of sunlight during these beloved northern hemisphere winters, but also due to a general lack of direction and stimulation. As the days warm up and the sunlight lasts longer into the evening I’m feeling rejuvenated. I’m not the only one that feels this way, a lot of people seem to be of lighter spirits lately which only helps to heighten my mood further. So I’m offering this up as a toast to Spring. I hope to take these next few month into my own hands. To be creative with my time and to become receptive to beauty in all it’s forms.
Spring is a season that I’ve often had trouble with in the past. It heralded the end of the school year, which leads to goodbyes to friends, to the arduous task of finding summer employment and is brought dust. – There is lots and lots of dust here. Soon I will blow my nose and it will come out gray. – So this year I’m going to make the most of this season. I’m looking forward to hearing back from the University about my application for a Fall start on my newest adventure: a BA in art and design with a minor in creative writing. I’m going to buy good shoes and wear them while I exercise and I’m going to swim! I’m going to work on the commissions I’ve promised to people and take time to create things for myself too. I’m going to spend time enjoying the wind, the rain and the sunshine.
